A series of drawings made during three holidays in the Adelboden region of Switzerland.

Pencil drawing of Adeboden Church

Pencil sketch of Dorfkirche, Adelboden. This is the main church in the village. It was built in 1433

The lich-gate has a plaque on it saying the gate was presented to the village by aircrew who baled out and escaped prisoners of war, who were interned in Adelboden during the Second World War

Drawn 2002. Original size 29 x 22cm

And my thanks to the staff of the Sports Shop who allowed me to sit on their roof to make this sketch.

Pencil drawing of one of the huge wooden supporting pillar inside the above church. These columns were hewn from fir trees when the church was built over 500 years ago

Drawn 2002. Original 13 x 25cm.

A very pleasant time spent in the cool gloom of this old church whilst the temperature outside was a blistering 30°C
