THE GREAT SPHINX

Here is The Great Sphinx which Janis Dods painted on a large piece of canvas, It was used in the Palace scene

 

And to end this Vancouver Island sequence here is a photo of their version of the "Willow Pattern" Garden scene. The painting has not been finished yet but they are obviously well under way with it. Photo shows Janis (scenic artist) discussing the set with the Director, Scott Lowe, who also played Widow Twankey. Janis explains - most of the scenery for their Aladdin was painted on Coroplast, a thin plastic material sanwiched with baffles inside for strength.
