SCENERY PAINTING FOR THE AMATEUR MUSICAL THEATRE and PANTOMIME
ALADDIN Ulster page two
Designed and painted by Brian Willis. Sets built by Colin Hompstead.
Performed by the Ulster Operatic Company (1972)
Widow Twankey's kitchen. Backcloth with book-flat doorway on right and three wings on left. Bottles on shelf on right is a tromp l'oeil, as is the painted "open" door on backcloth
Aladdin Village . (yes I know it's grainy!) On the left is a bookflat with a window void so actors could draw back the curtains and appear. The "Peek Inn" on the right is a wing.
I wonder who the bloke is on the left.? And what he looks like thirty years on?
