Design, built and painted by Brian Willis
Performed at the Courtyard Theatre, Newtownabbey December 2012

CAVE INTERIOR

This is an A3 sized acrylic painting done on MDF board which was then sent to Rutters who enlarged it to 20 feet by ten feet.
"Where are the jewels?" I hear you cry. There are none so that this cloth can be used for other shows. (Snow White for instance) However in front of this cloth goes two pieces which does have jewels on them.
It is planned to project a ripple lamp on the waterfall.
CAVE INTERIOR BOOKFLAT

Here is the bookflat which goes in front of the above cloth. There are fairy lights (LEDs) sprinkled throughout the piece, with the wires and battery at the back. This bookflat is big enough to hide the Genie standing behind. It is on a truck so it can easily be set in position.

Whiskers, the cat, agreed to sit in this photo-shoot for scale!

GROUND ROW

And above is a groundrow which also goes in front of the Cave Interior backcloth. This piece too has LED fairy lights dotted about it.
Below is a photo taken of this scene during a dress rehearsal (The LEDs are not lit) Interestingly the creases in the cloth help the illusion. I have noticed the same effect with my tree backcloths too.

And here is photo of Princess Jasmin. (Sarah Brown)
