SCENERY PAINTING FOR THE AMATEUR MUSICAL THEATRE and PANTOMIME
TITLE - ALI BABA (BUSHMILLS)
Designed, constructed and painted by Brian Willis
Performed by Bushmills Primary Players at the School in February 2005

THE PIRATES' DEN (two young "pirates" for scale - no costumes yet) At the end of this scene, the pirates lay down to sleep and the stage lights are extingushed. The scene then glows under UV paint which I had put over the skull and bones, plus the beaks of the vultures. An ultra violet "ghost" then 'floats' back and forth over the stage. (Light weight cut-out plastic sheet used for temporary advertising which is suspended on fishing line.) The music starts and the two vulture's beaks open and shut and the jaw of the skull also goes up and down. So these three appear to be singing along to the tune.
