SCENERY PAINTING FOR THE AMATEUR MUSICAL THEATRE and PANTOMIME
Christmas Decoration Mine
Designed and painted by Brian Willis.
Unfortunately I only have a very poor black and white photo of this project.

There was about eight separate layers to this little display. An irregular hole was cut in the board that sheeted the shop window to represent a hole in the roots of the tree. This meant the glass of the window was exposed. Inside the shop, behind this hole, I then set up this display of teddy bears mining Christmas decorations. I had great fun making up the little rail trucks of baubles, ladders, cranes etc. There's a 2.5 ltr paint tin bottom left for scale.

The visitors to Santa queued past this little scene, so had something to look at whilst waiting.
