SCENERY PAINTING FOR THE AMATEUR MUSICAL THEATRE and PANTOMIME
CINDERELLA - Bushmills page four"C" The coach arrives.
Designed and painted by Brian Willis. Scenery built by Brian Willis and Kenny McKay.
Performed by members and friends of Bushmills Primary School PTA (2004)

And here is the coach emerging from its slit during a (non costume) rehearsal. Pushed by "coachman" stagehand Kenny hidden behind the flats and at the same time paying out the cable. The arrival of the coach was augmented by the tinkling sound of a windchime hung backstage to which we held a microphone. The pumpkin has gone and you can just make out the Blue Tack on the picture but the audience was too absorbed with the coach to notice.

Meanwhile Cinders has changed into the top of her ballgown and slid behind these flats so that when the coach arrives and the coach window is opposite the end of the flats she can take her rightful place behind the window and the stage lights go out. Leaving the coach lit.

Fairy Queen gives Cinders advice about being home before midnight. Cinders (helped by a "soldier") shuffles her coach along as the curtains close.
