We are being shown the fascinating flotation process used to separate the metals from the ore. Nick explained that this process was discovered in the early 1900's when an old timer in the gold rush discovered gold particles were sticking to the bubbles when he washed his clothes. Galantas uses a slightly more upmarket version, but it means no toxic chemicals, such as cyanide or mercury, are used in the separation. |
