GIANT'S CASTLE INTERIOR

2.5 paint tin for scale.
This scene was painted on three separate small cloths which were dropped down over the three Garden flats. (See back a couple of pages). Because of lack of space in the workshop I am only able to show you the two downstage sections with their two book flat wings. The missing middle, upstage, cloth was more of the same. We were worried that the edges of these cloths might curl (Hour-glassing) when they were cut out. But this did not prove too much of a problem because I did not cut out a very big profile edge (About two inches at the most) and the cloth already had about eight layers of paint on it from previous shows, so was quite stiff.

There is some distortion in this photo. Also I was not able to roll down the cloths fully so had to paint the two bottoms on the floor. Hence the apparent 'wrong' perspective of the plinths on the pillar bases. The paint tin is sitting on the bottom of the left cloth.
