SCENERY PAINTING FOR THE AMATEUR MUSICAL THEATRE and PANTOMIME
OLIVER - page three
Designed and painted by Brian Willis. Sets constructed by Leonard Quigg
Performed by Ballycastle Choral Society (2001)
Paddington rehearsal
Paddington Green. (Dress rehearsal)
The red light over the wrought iron arch (Aud Rt) is a little joke on my part re the area. I suspect there were no Paddington Green residents in the Northern Ireland audience. In fact I wonder if any of them twigged? Note wings with quoins and a window which blend in with the same on the cloth. This is a "trick" I often use to force the perspective. The painted quoins on the wing (Aud Lt) are slightly bigger than those in the foreground on the cloth thus, hopefully, making them look in the distance.
