THE PANTRY ON BOARD THE COTTOM BLOSSOM
This was an inset scene, composed of two bookflats. The two on the right were opened out and supported from the back. The flats were reversible and the backs used for another scene. This meant that the side you are seeing has the 2"x1" timber supports exposed. I used these as 'shelf edges'. This is a trompe l'oeil with the eyline about 9 inches off the stage floor and the 3d effect enhanced by perspective and shadows. The "Flour Bin" on the right helped to support these flats. There's a 2.5 ltr tin of paint on the top for scale of this "bin" for scale.
