All items i.e. gloves, boots, quoits, could be sprayed silver. The suit could be made from silver material obtained from specialist fabric shops. (Annlaug, the parent who made the Tinman outfit for Wizard of Oz got her material from Stranmillis Teacher Training College Belfast) Try rubber playground quoits sewn onto the suit-top for around the arms. The plastic curly tubing, which comes from the "back-pack" box to the "chest piece", could be the piping sold for moving beer up to the bar. Failing that, try a caravan supplier for piping used to transport drinking water. If either of these do not retain their curl, run a length of stiff fencing wire through it, then bend to shape. In the centre of the cardboard 'chest piece' could be a coffee jar lid. Have you a manufacturing factory in your area? Many factories, especially those making small electronic components, throw out large volumes of identical little 'gubbins'. Some are rejects, whilst others are the carrying devices used to import the original unassembled parts. These could be sewn onto the suit or attached to the 'Backpack' |
