PATRICK I don't know if these "Model" pages add anything to this scenery painting section of the Sleepover musical. Feel free to drop.
SCENE ONE
The dimensions of this scale model are that of the last Primary School stage which I worked on, which is 17 ft. 6 inches wide by ten foot deep and ten feet high (probably the smallest school stage you are ever likely to come across i.e. the worst-case scenario). This model, and cast, is at a scale of 1 cm : 1ft, but the photos have been reduced to go on the web. I have assumed cast are all 4'6" tall.
The scenery in this model of Scene One is:-
A backcloth running the full length along the back,
And two separate wings, ("tree" and "ivy-wall"). Both wings are dispensable.
This photo was taken from above the normal audience eyeline, which means there is, apparently, a building on the left wing in contradiction with the 'steps' on the backcloth. However from the lower level of the audience they will see this as acceptable.
