Good strong outlines with flat colour. Outlines could be projected and pupils could then colour-in. There are only a few colours here. Only one green for instance, which has been tinted with white to give the three different hues. The canvas for a backcloth this size would cost about £30 plus the cost of the paint. And, of course, something to hold it up. I am having second thoughts about the layout of this particular cloth. The sky is the dominant feature of this Musical but there isn't much sky to be seen here. Not to worry - back to the drawing board. It's the principal of thick outlines and a cartoon treatment that I am showing you here. |
