Practical hinged door.
Note the vague 'nothingness' on the cloth behind this piece to make the cottage stand out.

Photographed from too high an angle. The eyeline of this piece is about a foot off the floor. (ie. the height of the audiences' eyes when sitting in the hall. ) So it should look quite real to them when viewed from that height.
