Backcloth - (Ladders for scale) Trompe L'oeil stairs to give
depth. Shadows of porch pillars to give depth. Photographed in the workshop.
Just noticed the shadow across the warming pan at the door, the shadow
should also have been on the wall.
Another part of above cloth. Note miserable sky. Guess there's a storm coming! Beams over door disappear into blackness.
A miserable scene to contrast with what is to follow.
I like this cloth, it has a nice "painterly" look to it.
