SCENERY PAINTING FOR THE AMATEUR MUSICAL THEATRE and PANTOMIME

ALADDIN Hullabaloo 2012 page three
Design, built and painted by Brian Willis
Performed at the Courtyard Theatre, Newtownabbey December 2012

There are two permanent pieces either side of the stage.
There's a permanent house door on the audience left and on the audience right the cave entrance.

There are lights behind the eyes that glow red and flicker as the "Cave" speaks. The texture was done using a large broken bath sponge dipped in different colours. This is huge piece (See 5 ltr. paint tin bottom rt.) and is composed of fourteen different sections bolted together once at the theatre.

And here is the entrance with the "door" opened. Door is on a pulley and rope, worked from the back.
