SCENERY PAINTING FOR THE AMATEUR MUSICAL THEATRE and PANTOMIME
HULLABALOO CHIDREN'S THEATRE at the Courtyard Theatre Newtownabbey - page one
Hullaballo put on an Easter Spring show and here are a few photos taken during rehearsal at the theatre. This was the first time the company had used all my scenery.
General view of stage

A very pixillated photo. The garland of flowers in the foreground was used by the dancers. The middle rostrum etc was used for the puppets. As well as the storytelling with children dressed in costumes, Hullabaloo also have a puppet show telling the same story, so there is always something for the young audience to watch.

Ian (The Storyteller)

Ian, the storyteller, with his storybook.

For this performance Ian (assisted by the children and the puppets) told three well known fairy stories.

One of which was the "Ugly duckling" (see the puppets below. )

Noleen Noleen (The puppeteer and costume lady)

Above is the puppet who introduced this "Spring Show", Note he is at the half door of the cottage.
And below are some of the puppets used when telling the tale of the "Ugly Duckling"

Thanks to the Courtyard Theatre Newtownabbey for help with these photos.
