Better view of the Buddha flats I had a little joke with myself over these. When making flats containing foliage I usually cut out profile edges which break up the straight edge of the flat. However as these were double sided, irregular edges would have been subject to being broken off when the flats were turned around and these edges were off stage. So instead I carried on the foliage of the upstage flat onto the edge of the downstage flat. Of course depending where you were sitting in the audience depended the exact position of back and front foliage but it worked quite well and helped to soften the stark straight edges. The shadows of the ivy on the front flat helped the illusion of depth. |
