Just a corner of the spectators at the "Ballet". For the "eyes" of the symbolic peacock's tail I used "interference" acrylic paint which, under the stage lights, gave a shimmering mother-of- pearl effect. Incidentally I rarely use acrylic paint for stage scenery (too expensive). Most of my scenery is painted with household vinyl matt emulsion.

 

THE MAP SCENE

Map "characters" painted with acrylic to get the detail of the armoured king and his naked counterpart. When painting these two characters I spent much time traipsing to the back of the hall to ensure the detail was clear enough to be seen by the audience at the back.

Yes I know you can't see them properly but that's a function of the quality of the Internet
