Kitchen drawing
Fagin's Kitchen. And here is a drawing I did for the Producer, Carpenter and Stage Manager, of the scene photographed on the previous page. The strange assembly of flats on the right was to enable two lines of children to march offstage at the same time. One lot through the top void and the others through the bottom. This requirement was decided early on in rehearsals by the producer who promptly dropped the idea once the set had been built and painted!
