London Bridge drawing
LONDON BRIDGE - Sorry just one photo. But it's all pretty obvious. Rostra along the back. Groundrow of London skyline along the back, together with the far side of the bridge stonework. Two practical lamps on pillars and a front piece depicting the bridge stone work. Flats on audience right represent old warehouse doors with the small (practical) pedestrian door within it. The arch thickness was a trompe l'oeil painted on, as can be seen by the straight line along the bottom of the flat, (figure for scale)
Bridge ground row

And here is the bridge (photographed in the workshop) The painted "shadow" on the right edge is the "cast" shadow of the lamp/pillar which went in front of it.

Again the whole construction is based on an audiences eyeline about a foot off the stage floor that is why you are "seeing" up under the top stone edge and a little under the actual bridge itself.

This is taken at an angle and once on stage the audience never saw the steps at the back.

On to drawing of back Groundrow.>>
