And here is a photo to give you an idea of the scale of the work. This picture was taken during setting up in the theatre. All the detritus and tools in the foreground are in use by the many set builders erecting the revolve with it's myriad steps, arches and rostra, which is to the left and out of this photo. That's me in red shirt and overalls on an electric lift platform which I used when patching a join between two of my flats.
Setting an eyeline/horizon line for scenery for a theatre which has a raked auditorium is a dilemma for a scenic artist. I elected to go for 6 feet off the stage floor, thus giving the best view about three rows from the front. However, this photo was taken from higher than that, hence the apparent "distortion" on the arches.
