This is the downstage part of the boat. (Photographed in the workshop. About three feet behind this was a row of flats depicting the doors and portholes of the cabins. The paddle wheel I painted trompe l'oeil on a flat piece of board. Well actually three flat pieces of board and you can just see the joins in this photo,
Construction of the Cotton Blossom. And this is how the flats went together. You'll see this drawing shows a ceiling but that was dropped as the lighting people could not get enough light on the actors who were standing in the "deck" . All the flats were labelled CB as they were part of the Cotton Blossom but I expect you guessed that!
