ARENA several pages of Scenery thoughts. Of course elements suggested here will work just as well for a Proscenium production. |
|||
| A FLIP CHART This Musical will last approximately 20 minutes (CHECK THIS WITH PATRICK) So it is quite likely it will form part of a concert in which there other plays/events/choirs. Therefore any scenery will have to be simple and easily set on and off the acting area. |

One idea (based on a suggestion by Andrew) is a free standing "Flip Book" . This to have a series of 10 feet long by seven foot high canvases which are flipped over by teachers, no doubt standing on milk crates. (Seven foot is a bit high) To be effective I suggest a picket fence is placed in front of this flip chart. |
|||
| For Scene Two - "the night sky", - rather than have a painted canvas, the back of the flip chart (The plywood sheets) could be drilled with holes and Christmas tree lights pushed through them. | |||
| CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS Below are the construction drawings for a proposed "Flip Chart" Most of the plywood triangles omitted for clarity. These drawings may be hard to decipher, so at the bottom of the page you will find links to PDF versions of the same sketches. (DAMIEN but at least the font on the gifs below are the same as my original) | |||

| Damien - One of my computer programs (either CorelDraw or Adobe Acrobat) changed the font on my original vector drawings from AvantGuarde to something practically unreadable once it appears as a PDF. But no doubt you can sort this out when I give you the originals. What is the best file extension for you or can you deal with .cdr? (Coreldraw) | |||
