In music there appears to be basically two sorts of conductors. Namely the orchestral conductor and the band conductor.
THE BAND CONDUCTOR. The script calls for this character to be clad in silver. If you cannot find any silver material then I suggest you go instead for an all white outfit with perhaps some gold ornamentation. Here are three ideas.
Because this person has come from space then we must think of some "Alien" features. The simplest idea might be to use face paint and give his/her a white face. What about buying a couple of pointy "Spock" ears from the local fancy dress shop? Those "feathers" in the hat, and epaulette tassels, can be strips of stiff paper or better still, pipe cleaners. White gloves?

And because he/she is a 'Conductor' it doesn't mean to say they have to look like one, - especially as they have come from space where, no doubt, conductors look different.

What about one of those white coveralls which Forensic Scientists, Environmental Health Inspectors, or people looking for WMD, wear? Affix glitter or sequins

But of course all the above might be too literal and instead we should be thinking more of a "Puck"; "Ariel" or "Tinkerbell" figure. Must not make him/her look too much like a fairy though, or the baton will look like a wand with the star fallen off.

SIMPLEST Perhaps the simplest costume would be a white cape or cloak; white tights and sweat shirt; plus a pair of silver wellington boots. (Can you cover 'wellies' with silver car spray? And yellow washing up latex gloves too?) Also use thick white curtain cord for ornamentation. Perhaps stick large silver stars and moons on the cape? White outfit with a white cape? Don't have too high a collar or else your Space Cconductor will look like Elvis Presley!
