THE SOOBE (Suitcase Outside Broadcasting Equipment).

This was custom designed and built for us, in his spare time, by BBC Video Engineer Davy Dillon (RIP) . The "suitcase" (actually a rather nice mahogany wooden box with handle) was equipped with facilities to:-
Receive programme sound from the studio;
Broadcast using the 'Suitcases' own microphone;
Speak to and from the studio on a dedicated control circuit (i.e. not broadcast).
All this was accomplished via just one line. (Post Office or microphone), using phantom circuits .
