EMERALD CITY WALL Flats

Size 20 feet long by 7'6" high. 2.5 ltr paint tin for scale.

A series of flats butt joined together. The doors and portholes are practical.
Just for a change I decided I would "light" these walls from below. Well .. it makes a change and a bit of an interesting challenge for me when painting.

A six inch high rostrum runs along the bottom in front of these flats but I painted that section green just in case. So often, once we get into the theatre, things don't work and changes are made so I try to anticipate these events.

As I was driving to the workshop on the day I was due to start painting these walls, I passed a stone wall separating some fields. We have a lot of these in this area, and it dawned on me how the builders always find the bigger stones to be a foundation at the bottom.

The pilasters are to break up the monotony of large areas of stone. And to hide the places where the flats join.
