Once I got the OK from the clients that my backcloth pencil sketch was what they wanted, then I painted the 40 cms wide acrylic for the backcloth printers. (See picture below) I eventually painted it on smooth MDF as any canvas texture would have been magnified 15 times in the final backcloth. This is a very poor pixilated scan of the original. I outlined the foreground elements to make it like a pop-up book or children's illustrated picture book. This MDF original I then sent off to Rutters. I was apprehensive about this system as I had never used it before.
