SCENERY PAINTING FOR THE AMATEUR MUSICAL THEATRE and PANTOMIME
SET FOR HULLABALOO CHIDREN'S THEATRE Page three
... but I need not have been apprehensive for here is THE FINAL PRINTED 20' X 10' BACKCLOTH
Panorama of priontd cloth

Compared with my original on the previous page I am delighted with the result. In fact it is hard to tell if this is the small original or the huge copy. This cloth is apparently darker at the top but this is not the case in reality - just lack of light in the workshop.

I am assured by RUTTERS that the folds and creases will come out after being hung for about an hour (Incidentally if the cloth gets grubby you can dry clean it!).

At this stage I am not doing the cloth justice because - for this photo I laid the cloth on the workshop floor. climbed my step ladder and took two photos of both ends of the cloth then stitched the photos together to give you this complete panorama. That's why the towers of the background castle look a bit dumpy. They are not in reality.
Once in a theatre I hope to photograph the cloth when properly hung.
